Detail: Also known as "The Gravediggers" because of its proximity to Glasnevin cemetery. The current properietor is Eugene Kavanagh and his family have owned the pub since 1833. The interior has changed little since the 19th century. The pub featured in a television advertisement for Smithwicks beer.

Kavanaghs have had the front lounge renovated and are now serving Tapas on weekday evenings. The chef is very talented, and everything is extremely fresh.
