2009 was a landmark year for The Courteeners. Not only did they complete the follow up to their top 5 debut album St Jude, released in April 2008, but the Manchester band has also interrupted recording for an outstanding set of live appearances both in the UK and in the States.
Liam Fray and his band decamped to the US where they were guests of Morrissey on the US leg of his world tour; subsequent shows saw them headline three shows in their own right winning accolades from the US media in the process. The band returned on the back of those shows to put in an incredible main stage appearance at the Coachella Festival, before leaving audiences at the Reading and Leeds festivals in raptures in August.
